Bay is the Way Day
November 10, 2017 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Bay College and the Delta County College Access Network are very excited to announce that we are once again collaborating to offer the highly successful “Bay is the Way Day,” a Bay College campus visit, on Friday, November 10. With around 50 percent of our college bound seniors attending a community college, specifically Bay, we believe it is important to bring these students to Bay for a college visit. Bay is a valuable resource for all in our community. Further, it is most often the choice of first generation college-going and low income students. Getting these students on campus, familiarizing them with the college atmosphere, and assisting them in financial aspects of college (FASFA, TIP Program, and scholarships) has been proven to encourage student enrollment and eliminate some stress associated with navigating college life.
Much like visiting four year colleges and universities, the visit will include a tour, meeting with admissions and financial aid departments, lunch, and sessions with faculty in their academic area of interest. Your school can participate by bringing a group of students with a chaperone or by sending students individually.
The event is for high school seniors considering Bay College for their post high school education. We ask that they have applied to Bay College before the event. Also, students must complete the attached participation form so we can personalize their visit. The college visit is scheduled for Friday, November 10, 2017 and will run from around 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. EST (final details are still being worked out.) The forms are due back to Bay College by October 20th. They can be returned via email to firstname.lastname@example.org or faxed to 906.217.1714).
We hope your students can attend Bay is the Way Day. For more information or clarification, please contact me.
